All fathers hope to one day see their children grow up to be better than they were and carry on their legacy. That statement is even true of LeBron James, who watched recently as his Los Angeles Lakers selected his son, Bronny James, in the 2024 NBA Draft with the No. 55 pick.

While it takes an incredibly talented player to make it into the NBA, there's a belief that Bronny won't end up surpassing his dad in career legacy, considering that his father is arguably the best player in the history of the game.

According to one polarizing sports analyst though, Bronny is already better than his dad at one key element of the sport.

    The clutch gene.

FS1's Skip Bayless is getting some backlash this week after coming out and claiming that he thinks the younger James has more of a clutch gene than his dad does, based on zero evidence at all.

"I think Bronny is built tougher than his father is because I think Bronny has been through a lot," Bayless said. "I think he will become a clutch three-point shooter. I've got the feeling that Bronny has a bigger clutch gene than his dad does."

Based on what, exactly? A few high school games and the desire to throw shade at his dad, which Bayless has been making a living off of for almost two decades now?

Needless to say, this take didn't go over very well on social media.

The good news is that Bayless is likely on his way out of the sports media industry at some point in the next decade as he continues to age, and this tired take can leave with him.
