The Los Angeles Lakers are in desperation mode after striking out a few times in NBA free agency. Now, all signs point to a trade being the only way to add a star to this roster.

One name that has circulated time and time again is Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young. However, a Lakers trade to acquire Young seems less likely by the day, per the latest report from Zach Lowe of ESPN.

"The Lakers, too, have shown little recent interest in Young, sources said. That could change if the price drops to L.A.'s liking. But the market for Young is as chilly as it has ever been."

Young's name has been tied to the Lakers for years now, and there has been a desire for him to go to LA. However, it doesn't seem very likely given these latest reports.

The Lakers missed out on James Harden, Klay Thompson, and others, and a DeMar DeRozan trade is also looking cloudy at this stage.

The Hawks already traded Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans this offseason, so trading away Young wouldn't be that surprising.

But, for the Lakers, a Trae Young trade seems unlikely for now, unless something changes in the market.
