Hospital looking to ID patient found in downtown Los Angeles

A Los Angeles hospital is asking for the public’s help to identify a man who has been hospitalized for several days.

The man was found in downtown near the intersection of South Central Avenue and 6th Street on June 30, and he has been receiving care at Los Angeles General Medical Center in Boyle Heights since.

The L.A. County Department of Health Services, which operates the hospital, says they’ve been unable to determine the man’s identity.

He’s described as a 50-to-60-year-old man standing 5 feet 9 inches and weighing about 167 pounds. He has a medium to heavy build with black and gray hair and brown eyes.

“Patient has no tattoos or identifiable scars,” hospital officials added.

Health officials released a photo of the man on Friday in hopes that someone might recognize him. Details about the man’s condition were not released due to patient confidentiality laws, but the photo appeared to show that he had surgical staples in his head, indicating he might have some type of head injury.
