Danny Trejo, the star of Machete, was reportedly involved in a brawl at the Sunland-Tujunga Independence Day Parade on Thursday, July 4 in Los Angeles, California .

The altercation began when an individual allegedly threw a water balloon at the vintage convertible that the 80-year-old actor was riding in. A video circulating on social media shows Danny confronting a man who he believes was the culprit.

The footage captures the moment when Danny exited his vehicle and approached the crowd on the sidewalk, throwing a punch at the man. The man retaliated but missed, causing the actor to stumble and fall.

The alleged instigator then took a swing at Danny before punching another man who had come to the actor's aid, knocking him to the ground as well. At one point, Danny was seen picking up a foldable beach chair and using it to hit someone as a larger fight broke out with people from both sides getting involved.

While the crowd tried to calm things down, restraining the actor and his entourage, chaos erupted when a water balloon struck Danny once more. A bystander at the event told ABC7 he whipped out his phone to record the brawl, noting it raged on for almost 10 minutes before cops showed up, reports the Mirror .

Stanley Herrarte, a spectator, explained that lobbing balloons is part of the parade's tradition, suggesting Danny wasn't entirely out of line. "This parade is like a thing where you throw water balloons back and forth at each other," Herrarte remarked.

He pointed out that luxury vehicles usually get a pass from the watery warfare. "The reason why Danny was so infuriated was because usually people don't throw water balloons at fancy cars when they come by," Herrarte continued. The police reported no arrests following the incident.

Danny has carved out a niche in Hollywood as the go-to guy for tough characters and baddies. He's best known for his role as Machete in various Robert Rodriguez movies and stands out as one of the few Latino actors consistently landing roles in Hollywood films and television.
