WNBA fans left perplexed by Cameron Brink Sparks sighting just days after knee surgery

Cameron Brink was back at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday, though not in the way fans might think. The Los Angeles Sparks posted a photo of the star rookie seemingly walking into the team's locker room, just days after she underwent surgery to repair her torn left ACL, which she injured in mid-June against the Connecticut Sun.

What's more interesting is the fact that in the photo, Brink was spotted without any walking aides and wearing boots no less. Though the image caught fans by surprise, the truth of the matter is that the photo was a sponsored post as the Sparks are partnered with Urban Decay. When the game fully began, Brink was spotted on the bench were a bulky, black brace on her left knee, showing the extent of her injuries.

Naturally, though, fans saw the initial image and wondered how Brink was able to walk into the arena just days after a major surgery. "I'm confused she tore her ACL and can walk already?" one fan pondered.

Musician Kyle Fortch made light of the situation, posting: "Cam strolling in like she made the quickest torn ACL recovery in history." Another fan wrote that even with how Brink tore her ACL , the star looks ready: "Cam looks like she can play tonight."

Despite the forward actually wearing a bulky brace, she was indeed on the bench supporting teammates, and seeing Brink there certainly gave the Sparks life. They came out very strong against the defending champion Las Vegas Aces. At multiple points throughout the game, Los Angeles held a double-digit lead, with the lead going as high as 15, keeping WNBA MVP favorite A'ja Wilson and the rest of the Sparks in check.

Still, the Sparks certainly are missing Brink's two-way presence after she was lost for the season with her injury. Despite her rookie year being cut short, Brink believes she will come back stronger than ever, once she is able to get back on the court.

"You never think it will happen to you," she wrote on social media shortly after her injury. "And despite all the hard work sometimes it does. This is hard to fathom but I know it will only make me stronger. I will not be derailed and I will continue to love this life.

"I'm not defined by basketball, but it's something that I love deeply and I will work everyday to get back to it. It’s not goodbye basketball; it’s just a see you later. I’m always so thankful for your thoughts and prayers."

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark made it clear she is rooting for Brink to come back better than ever. "Obviously [that's devastating], you never want to see anybody deal with any sort of injury, but know she’s a type of person that will be able to get through," Clark told reporters.

"It breaks your heart. She’s such a good basketball player but even a better person... her being one of my friends and kinda going through this process together."
