Bronny James Gets Dragged For Poor Defensive Display During Lakers Debut

    By Grant Young,

Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James Jr. made his NBA summer league debut on Saturday.

It wasn't the best performance for the son of NBA legend LeBron James. He finished the game with 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in 22 minutes played.

Yet, it was Bronny's defense during the debut that was making the most waves on social media.

And not in a good way.

At one point in the first quarter, Bronny nearly had his ankles broken while trying to defend a Sacramento Kings player.

And the internet was dragging him for it.

"BRONNY JAMES WITH THE LOCKDOWN DEFENSE," one X account wrote along with a video of the post, which already has nearly 250,000 views.

Another fan posted a hilarious video of Shannon Sharpe describing one of his meals, with the caption, "The Kings when they see Bronny James on defense".

The reality is that Bronny looked solid enough on defense aside from that one play early in the game, which was likely the result of him being over-hyped for his debut.

Bronny will get a shot at redemption tomorrow night against the Golden State Warriors' summer league team.
