The 5 Biggest Announcements at Anime Expo 2024

The 2024 Anime Expo took place over the weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and as with every year there were a host of fantastic anime announcements. While the show is typically held in the US, anime studios make the trek across the Pacific Ocean to show off their latest projects, be it in the form of teaser trailers for upcoming trailers or just new visuals.

Anime Expo 2024 took place over 4 days, and across all of its panels and events there were dozens of announcements to keep track of. Fear not, though, as we’ve gone through all of it and picked out the biggest and best announcements at Anime Expo 2024, which we’ve presented here in a handy list.

Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League Trailer

A new trailer for the upcoming anime film Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League – it’s exactly what it sounds like – was released during the show. It’s a little bit on the short side, at just 30 seconds, but it showed fun new takes on Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and The Flash. It looks very good, and it’s being produced by Kamikaze Douga. No release date has been set for the film.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Teaser Trailer

Solo Leveling took the world by storm when it was released earlier this year, though we weren’t so hot on the series’ opening episode when we reviewed Solo Leveling shortly before its launch. Nevertheless, it clearly resonated with fans, enough to get a second season, and we have its first official teaser now. It shows a few quick action scenes in its minute-long runtime, and the season has been confirmed to be coming to Crunchyroll at some point in the future.

Black Butler -Emerald Witch Arc- Announcement

Hot off the heels of the finale for Black Butler: Public School Arc anime adaptation – the first new season of the anime in a decade – Crunchyroll and CloverWorks announced that the series would be continuing with the series but without the huge gap this time. The Emerald Witch Arc will be coming sometime in 2025, but to tide you over there is a fantastic teaser trailer, which you can watch below:

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 Release Date

Bleach is in a huge renaissance right now, thanks to Thousand-Year Blood War, the final saga of the story that was never animated back when the series was first being adapted. The third part of Thousand-Year Blood War is coming this year, in October, and we’ve got a full, 2-minute trailer for it that’s absolutely incredible. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 - The Conflict is coming to Disney+ and Hulu depending on your region in October 2024.
