Your SoCal weather report for Monday, July 15: Sunny with possible thunderstorms

Soak up some sun (and Vitamin D) to beat those Monday blues. It'll be hot, but not as hot as last week's heatwave. Downtown L.A. will see highs in the low 80s. The San Fernando San Gabriel valleys will be hotter with temps in the high 80s to low 90s in some parts.

Orange County will be slightly cooler Monday with daytime highs reaching the upper 70s to low 80s inland.

Conditions are good at the beaches today with highs along the L.A. and Orange county coasts reaching the mid 70s once the morning clouds burn off. But come Tuesday, beach hazard conditions will go into effect for Ventura County and Los Angeles County beaches along with the Malibu coast until Tuesday morning. Surf heights of four to 6 feet are expected with forecasters warning of dangerous rip currents.

Inland, it might be time for a trip to a splash pad with cold lemonade in tow. It’ll be hot with inland temperatures set to be in the high 90s. Triple digits could hit parts of Riverside County and the Lancaster area. We have a list of tips on how to stay cool when temperatures are anything but.

Antelope Valley and some parts of the San Gabriel Valley have thunderstorms — yes, summer thunderstorms are a thing — along with high winds, which forecasters have warned can knock over unsecured objects as well as trees. If you bought out those water tables to beat last week’s heat wave, it might be a good idea to put them away.
