New Balance continues to go all-in on the WNBA's growth and potential, and on Tuesday they made a major announcement.

It announced a multiyear deal with the WNBA, which in effect will make it an official partner of the WNBA. On top of that, New Balance will have a chance to continue its partnership with Los Angeles Sparks rookie, Cameron Brink. The two made history while Brink was starring at Stanford, as she became their first women's athlete endorser .

In terms of what to expect from Brink and New Balance following the announcement, New Balance can now create and release broadcast, digital and retail content featuring Brink. It joins Adidas, Nike, Puma and Under Armour as a league partner, as they continue their mission to establish itself as the leader in women’s sports.

“It’s really exciting that we’re going to play a small part in continuing the growth and progress towards achieving parity in women’s sports,” said global head of partnerships for New Balance Jessica Vassall per CNBC .

Brink actually had familial ties to Nike as her parents worked there, but she expressed the move to New Balance was an easy one.

“Even though my parents worked at Nike for a long time, it was such an easy conversion. ... I felt like family with [New Balance], and it felt like a great environment,” Brink said.

Unfortunately for this year's No. 2 overall pick, her rookie season came to a premature ending as she suffered a torn ACL back in June. On top of missing the rest of the season in which she seemed poised to lead the league in blocks, she will also miss out on representing Team USA in the Olympics as she was selected to the 3X3 team.

Brink is set to be featured in lifestyle and performance campaigns, and will also help influence other future products for New Balance.
