    Hit-and-Run Driver Leaves Pedestrian Fatally Injured on Street in Downtown Los Angeles

    DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, July 16 (KNN) — A traffic collision involving a hit-and-run driver left a pedestrian fatally injured on a Downtown Los Angeles street early Tuesday morning.

    The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a person down on 4th Street, just east of Wall Street, around 3:30 a.m.

    When crews arrived at the location, they discovered that the victim had been struck by a vehicle no longer at the scene. The LAFD pronounced the victim deceased.

    The pedestrian was identified as a Black male in his 50s, according to Officer Cervantes, spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department.

    Cervantes said there is no suspect or vehicle information at this time.

    LAPD’s Central Traffic is handling the investigation.
