Los Angeles Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht did not see action during Wednesday night’s NBA Summer League game against the Atlanta Hawks in Las Vegas, but he still turned heads when he shared his goals as a pro.

During an interview with Jorge Sedano of ESPN, Knecht laid out his vision for his career a decade from his rookie season.

"I want to be the best player in the league, [become an] All-Star... [and] get some championships," the former Tennessee Volunteers star said.

There is a long way to go for Knecht to reach those goals, but he is not one to back away from such challenges. After all, every player in the NBA should be aspiring for the same. And any team must love that kind of attitude from their players, especially rookies.

Becoming an All-Star and winning titles are much easier said than done, but at least Knecht is already playing for a playoff contender. The Lakers may not be among the current top favorites to win the 2024–25 NBA championship, but they are a big market team that always has a shot at forming a formidable squad.
