Dalton Knecht had the perfect opportunity to have a terrific nickname when he arrived in the NBA.  Well, that is if his drafting team were to help it shake out.

Fortunately, the Los Angeles Lakers did just that.  The Lakers, who took Knecht with the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft last month, gave the former Tennessee Vols superstar a number befitting his name perfectly: four.

    Ergo, we have Knecht Four.

Yes, there have been other good nicknames for the 2024 first-team All-American and SEC Player of the Year .  Of course, the other clear one being anything involving Knecht and "connect", which is fitting given the number of long shots that the talented guard knocked down week in and week out for the Vols.

Now?  Well, with the number four and an apropos last name, Knecht is now being presented with the actual popular board game Connect Four to autograph.  And it appears he has absolutely no problem with it.

Knecht is beginning to find his stroke in the NBA Summer league a fter a bit of a slow start as far as shooting percentage.  After starting somewhat slow in the Lakers' first two games in San Francisco, Knecht has found his shot somewhat more in Las Vegas.  In two games in Sin City, Knecht has put up 44 total points with 41% field goal percentage, including 7-17 from beyond the arc, to go with 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

Knecht and the Lakers take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night at 9 pm ET.  We'll see if more fans will be bringing the popular board game for the former Tennessee Vol great's signature.
