Richard Simmons’ reappearance into the spotlight before his tragic death was a breath of fresh air for his fans, who received uplifting social media posts from him every week. His team recently shared the last content he had lined up before he passed away in his Los Angeles home.

His staff took to X with a photoshopped snap of the late fitness guru in an orange NASA uniform posing in a slot canyon alongside his intended note that read, “Let me fly you to the moon so we can gaze among the stars. Love, Richard.”

The staff noted that his last post was meant to go up on July 14, the day after he was found dead at home. Fans soon flooded the comments with tributes and kind words for Richard, whose kindness positively impacted those he encountered on and offline. “Thank you for posting this! It will be nice to have a memory of him in his later years. Such a beautiful soul, inside and out,” someone wrote.

    His death is under investigation

The cause of Richard’s death has been pegged to natural causes, although reports state that he suffered a fall the day before and refused to seek medical intervention. While he has been laid to rest at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary, the Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the unfortunate incident.

Richard’s brother, Lenny Simmons, paid tribute to him on social media, urging fans to celebrate his inspiring life rather than mourn. Richard left behind a legacy of positivity, reaching out to fans via email despite being out of the spotlight for a decade. His death came on the brink of his reemergence via Broadway, a plan that had tragically died with him.
