The Los Angeles Dodgers were losing pitchers to the injured list by the bunches. Now, they are returning in droves.

Reliever Ryan Brasier was placed on the 15-day IL on April 30 due to a right calf strain. He was transferred to the 60-day on June 13. According to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register, the right-hander threw a simulated game at Dodger Stadium before the series finale against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday afternoon.

However, the 36-year-old will need a rehab assignment before he pitches for the Dodgers again.

Brasier only appeared in 12 games, starting one, and allowed six earned runs on 10 hits across 11.2 innings of work. He re-signed with Los Angeles this offseason on a two-year deal with $9 million.

The reliever joined the Dodgers on a minor league deal after the Boston Red Sox released him in May 2023 and found his way back to the big leagues the next month.

The result was miraculous, as he turned in one of the best second halves in Major League Baseball, posting a 0.70 ERA in 39 games for the Dodgers. Brasier recorded 38 strikeouts and 10 walks in 38.2 innings.

Brasier’s 0.70 ERA is the second-lowest in a season in Dodgers history with a minimum of 30 innings pitched, behind only left-hander Hank Aguirre in 1968.

Brasier will throw a simulated game again Tuesday before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times.
