Shohei Ohtani's Jaw-Dropping 30th Home Run

Shohei Ohtani has only been with the Dodgers for four months and has already hit his share of spectacular home runs. He reserved the best for his thirtieth home run of the year on July 20 at the Dodger Stadium as the Dodgers defeated the Red Sox 9–6 to sweep the three-game series.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Ohtani, "He just never ceases to amaze." It's difficult to imagine someone striking a baseball with such force. "Just look at how far that ball went and how hot it came off the bat."
Leading Up To Ohtani's Homer
During the fifth inning, Boston Red Sox right-hander Kutter Crawford hit a 2-1 cutter over the center of the plate, and Ohtani made sure to make him pay. It was obvious that it would be a homer as soon as he made contact. The only uncertainty was if the ball would clear the Dodgers Stadium.
Shohei Ohtani did not clear the Dodgers Stadium, but he hit the stadium's second-longest home run. Traveling 473 feet, the ball cleared the right-center pavilion and skipped the center field plaza. On May 12, 2015, Giancarlo Stanton hit a 475-foot home run, which cleared the entire stadium.
When Ohtani was questioned about his desire to hit a home run out of Dodger Stadium in his career, he responded, "That's what I hope," via interpreter Will Ireton. "I think I'm going to have a lot more of those opportunities to do so. So definitely looking forward to one of those."
With seven home runs of 450 feet or more this season, the Dodgers' two-way superstar leads all Major League players and has more than any other Dodger in a single season since 2015. Three of the five farthest home runs in Dodger Stadium history during the Statcast era are currently owned by Ohtani.
