Man Shot Inside SUV in Downtown Los Angeles; Suspect Flees

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, July 23 (KNN) — A man was shot while inside his vehicle in Downtown Los Angeles early Tuesday morning.

The shooting occurred around 4 a.m. in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue where a male suspect shot the victim who was inside his white SUV, then fled the location.

The 25-year-old victim also fled the scene of the shooting and collided with a Metro bus at 6th Street and Central Avenue, according to Officer Im with LAPD’s Media Relations Division. The victim is reported to be in stable condition after being transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

Information gathered at the scene indicated the victim was shot in the face.

Responding officers with LAPD’s Central Division cordoned off the area for the investigation.

The suspect was only described as a Hispanic male who was last seen heading southbound on Central Avenue.
