False ( About this rating? )

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris announced her campaign to become the Democratic party's nominee for the 2024 presidential election on July 21, 2024. On July 23, 2024, a news site, UK Discoverer, posted an article claiming that pop superstars Taylor Swift and Beyoncé were hosting a joint concert to fundraise for Harris' campaign.

    The article stated:

In an unprecedented show of unity and star power, music icons Beyoncé and Taylor Swift have just announced their plan to host a colossal fundraising concert aimed at mobilizing their massive fan bases in support of Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign.

The concert, which is set to take place in Los Angeles's SoFi Stadium, promises to be one of the largest and most star-studded events in recent history. With a lineup that includes some of the biggest names in music, the event aims to rally support for Harris's ongoing efforts to address critical issues such as climate change, social justice, and economic equality.

This article was shared on social media platforms like X and Facebook and amassed hundreds of thousands of views across the platforms. Many commenters on the X post seemingly believed the article. One user stated, "This is phenomenal," another stated, "For Real?"

But the claim is false. No reports of the alleged fundraising concert can be found from reputable sources, and no announcement has been made by Swift or Beyoncé.

UK Discoverer has a track record of posting such false claims, like an article alleging that Tucker Carlson was replacing Jimmy Kimmel on a late-night talk show. Snopes debunked that claim soon after it posted.

Newsweek also reported on the alleged concert article, finding that it was "erroneous."

Swift and Beyoncé have yet to announce who they're endorsing in the 2024 presidential election. However, Beyoncé gave Harris permission to use her song "Freedom" at campaign events, according to CNN .

Swift also voiced support for Harris when she accepted the nomination for vice president in the 2020 election:
