Sarah Michelle Gellar Embraces Coquette Trends in Lace Shushu/Tong Minidress With Bow for ‘The Girl in the Pool’ Premiere With Freddie Prinze Jr.

Sarah Michelle Gellar joined her husband of more than 20 years, Freddie Prinze Jr., at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film “The Girl in the Pool.” The actress joined her husband for the event on Wednesday, fashioning a fun and flirty dress that married lace details with summertime florals.

For the occasion, Gellar fashioned a white layered minidress courtesy of Shanghai-based label Shushu/Tong’s spring 2024 collection. The sleeveless frock featured a layered construction with allover lace detailing and a full, frilly skirt. The dress also featured a scalloped edge and a peplum hem.

Other details of the dress included a full tiered pleated tulle lining, a rounded neckline and a satin bow appliqué at the neckline. Gellar paired the dress with black pointed toe pumps and carried a mini top-handle bag by Destree.

Gellar isn’t alone in her proclivity for Shushu/Tong’s designs. Last March, Sydney Sweeney attended a talk at 92NY in New York wearing the fashion label’s spin on the classic little black dress.

The “Immaculate” star wore a ruffled minidress by the designer , also from Shushu/Tong’s spring 2024 collection, which included a panel of lace at the midsection of the dress’ bodice. Sweeney accessorized the look with small hoop earrings, diamond rings, sheer Calzedonia stockings and ankle-strap pumps.

Shushu/Tong kicked off 2024 with an installation at Dover Street Market in London, celebrating the fashion label’s 10-year anniversary with the retailer. “They have been supporting us from Day One, and over the years they offered us many valuable and honest suggestions about things like how we should grow the brand, and what categories we should expand into,” said Liushu Lei, cofounder of Shushu/Tong. The takeover concluded on Feb. 11.

“The Girl in the Pool” stars Freddie Prinze Jr. as a seemingly well-to-do family man who must survive a surprise birthday party after murdering and hiding the body of his mistress. The film hits theaters Friday.
