The Los Angeles Dodgers have made their second roster move of the day ahead of their series finale against the San Francisco Giants.

Utility man Chris Taylor was officially placed on the injured list with a left groin strain. Replacing him on the active roster is outfielder James Outman.

Outman was optioned earlier this week when outfielder Jason Heyward was activated off the IL. Now, he’s back in Los Angeles following Taylor’s injury.

Taylor left Wednesday’s game in the bottom of the seventh inning after suffering a groin injury rounding first base on a double. Taylor underwent imaging on Thursday, and is now going on the IL.

After the game, Roberts said he was “assuming” Taylor would be going on the IL and Outman would be returning to the team. That has now been made official.

Taylor’s injury is another blow in an overall disappointing season. The 33-year-old is slashing .167/.277/.265 with three home runs, 15 RBIs, and an OPS of .542 across 64 games.

As for Outman, he’s struggled at the MLB level, too, slashing .153/.250/.258 with three home runs, 10 RBIs, and an OPS of .508 across 45 games.
