Paul George Didn't Hold Back When Asked About Bronny James Drama

The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Then, the team followed up that selection with the decision to sign Bronny on a four-year, $7.9 million rookie contract.

Bronny's NBA arrival has been met with unprecedented scrutiny for a late second-round pick, largely due to the fact that he's the eldest son of Lakers superstar LeBron James.

Bronny is faced with countless critics as he begins his NBA career, many of whom feel he's only getting this opportunity because of the weight his father carries around the Los Angeles franchise.

NBA All-Star Paul George couldn't disagree more.

The Philadelphia 76ers' recent free-agent addition weighed in with his honest thoughts on the Bronny James situation.

"I think people that hate it, they're not looking at it from what that means to [LeBron James]. That's dope. He gets to play with his son. As big as his legacy is, that's part of his legacy too. The first player ever to be able to play with his son," George said on a recent episode of his Podcast P show. "... People are hating saying Bronny isn't a prospect. It's wrong because I think people have a certain image that they think Bronny is supposed to be. He's not Bron, he's his own person."

"I'm a fan of Bronny," George continued. "I think he has NBA potential for sure."

Bronny showed strong improvement through his Summer League schedule with the Lakers. The former USC guard averaged 12.5 points per game in his final two contests after a rough start in the scoring department.

It'll certainly be interesting to see how Bronny fares in his rookie campaign with LA this coming season.
