While she doesn't get all the attention that fellow rookies Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark receive, Los Angeles Sparks rookie Rickea Jackson is quietly putting together a fantastic first season in the WNBA.

And in the wake of that success, Jackson just made WNBA history.

Boardroom reported on Thursday that Jackson has become the first female basketball player to sign a shoe deal with Skechers.

"As a featured forward joining Skechers, Jackson will be highlighted across brand campaigns, including in-store display imagery and lead upcoming footwear launches," the announcement wrote.

"Her very first photoshoot unveiled the upcoming SKX NEXUS sneaker, a low-top hoop shoe “designed for speed, stability, and support."

Jackson, who has averaged 11.2 points per game this season, was quoted in the announcement saying, "Being the first WNBA player to join the Skechers roster is an incredible feeling. The brand is a rising star in the sports world.”

She also responded to the announcement on X Thursday by saying, "Blessings," along with a teary-eyed emoji and a heart emoji.

It's great to see Jackson receiving this love and respect from a global shoe brand like Skechers. And she's sure to reward their investment with a sensational career.
