    Camelia

$$$$Perfect For:Dinner with the ParentsDate Nights

    POWERED BY

This gorgeous French-Japanese spot from the people behind Tsubaki (one of our favorite Japanese restaurants in LA) is the restaurant equivalent of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter: a sharp, fun genre twist we didn’t know we needed. With handsome wood paneling and glowing globe lights, Camelia oozes grown-up brasserie charm: sultry enough for date night, classy enough to bring your parents. Servers happily chat wine and sake while pouring tastes, and the menu is filled with Gallic classics given sneaky makeovers, like ham katsu in the croque madame, roast chicken with seaweed cream, and green beans smothered in miso bearnaise. They don’t miss on dessert, either. Finish with the chocolate black sesame gâteau and a creamy-boozy Tokyo Banana cocktail.
