THE Tupac Shakur murder suspect has had a price put on his head by Bloods gang members – his son has sensationally claimed to The U.S Sun.

Keefe D – real name Duane Davis – has been warned by his eldest child: “Watch your back dad.”

Duane Jr , 31, revealed that Los Angeles’ Blood gang bosses have issued a kill order after his arrest and for his media confessions to being the shotcaller in rapper Tupac’s 1996 death.

He hit back at prosecutors alleging they have incorrectly stated his ex-Compton Crip gang boss dad planned to kill witnesses giving evidence in his murder trial.

The Clark County District Attorneys told a judge that a witness was potentially in danger after Keefe was recorded discussing a “green light” with his son.

But Duane Jr. insists that audio , played in court and obtained by The U.S. Sun, was misrepresented by prosecutors, insisting Keefe is the one whose life is at risk.

Frustrated Duane Jr. broke his media silence to “tell the world the truth about my dad” expressing his fears for the 61-year-old’s safety while in custody at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas .

In an impassioned interview, he explained a Blood gang member friend from Los Angeles warned him that his father could be killed.

Duane Jr. also complained that Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo has misconstrued his conversation with his dad noting he would be “stupid” to make threats to a witness knowing he was being recorded.

Duane Jr. said, “If you go back to the call. I told my dad it was a green light on us.

“It was a hit on our side. My dad was like ‘huh?’

“A guy who is a Blood from Compton who I know, told me it was a green light on my family.

“I told my dad to ‘Watch your back whether in jail or wherever’.

“We are talking about a green light on us.

“Listen to the tape. I am not a gang member, I promise you that.

“They don’t give a f**k about our safety.

“If I put a green light on somebody, why am I not in jail?”

Duane Jr. explained his dad had been a target from rival Blood gang members or affiliates since he was arrested by Metro officers last summer.

He added, “We never had a problem until my dad got arrested.

“Then they talking about it’s a green light on our family. It is like what the f**k?”

Asked to explain why Bloods would want his dad terminated, Duane Jr. replied, “They are thinking that my dad is the person who did it. So to say, I got to tell you this. My dad was a legend off of selling dope.

“Tupac – they didn’t talk about killing nobody, they talked about him selling dope.”

Duane Jr. insists prosecutors “misrepresented” his jail conversation adding his family are aware their calls are being recorded.

They [prosecutors] don’t give a f**k about our safety. If I put a green light on somebody, why am I not in jail?

    Duane Davis Jr.

“I warned my dad about his safety. If I knew it [the claim he gave a green light to kill a witness] was about to be all this, I would not have even said it.

“Why would I say that? Why would I say put a green light on someone when I know I was being recorded? ‘Watch you back dad’ is basically all I was saying.

“I don’t know who is in that jail. There could be some guys from Compton in there. I wanted to let him know to be careful.”

    ‘DON’T MENTION DIDDY’

Duane Jr. also expressed his worry about recent court papers, in which rap mogul Diddy was mentioned 77 times and accused of orchestrating the hit on Tupac.

Representatives for Diddy have not yet responded to requests for comment on the court filing.

“I feel like they are putting us in more danger bringing up P Diddy,” he said.

    “He is rich as hell.”

Keefe – sometimes spelled Keffe – alleged in police and media interviews, some of which are being given as evidence in the case, that Diddy offered him a $1 million bounty to kill Tupac – a claim which the NYC rap mogul has denied multiple times.

Duane Jr. admitted he was unaware of his father making that unsubstantiated claim against Diddy .

Why it’s taken so long for justice in the Tupac Shakur case

By The Sun’s Senior Reporter Emma Parry , who has been reporting on the Tupac murder for the past 10 years

TUPAC fans have been waiting for justice for the iconic rapper for almost 28 years.

Finally in September 2023 there appeared to be progress with the arrest of Duane “Keefe D” Davis – a former Southside Crip gangster from Compton, LA – who had been telling the world for years that he and his fellow “gang soldiers” were responsible for the hit.

I’ve been reporting on the case for several years and it always appeared pretty cut and dry…Keefe had spent the past decade gaining notoriety by boasting about his alleged involvement in the shooting – now he was finally getting what he deserves. But despite Keefe running his mouth for years, I now believe a guilty verdict in November’s trial is far from guaranteed.

Keefe describes in great detail in his memoir Compton Street Legend what went down the night Pac was shot, extracts from which The U.S. Sun has published.

He claimed that he was offered a million dollars by rapper Diddy to “handle” Tupac and Suge Knight and when he and his Crip gangsters came across the pair driving near the Strip in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, Keefe alleged he passed the gun to his nephew Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson who took the shot. Keefe said if Pac had been on his side: “I would have blast”.

Keefe repeated the claims multiple times over the years, on YouTube channels, documentaries, and even in taped confessions to police, when he believed he could not be prosecuted. In one confession to the LAPD, Keefe appeared completely remorseless telling detectives: “We didn’t give a f**k…The ambulance [for Tupac] was parked right here next to us. That s**t was as funny as a motherf**ker.”

The Sun has been publishing stories about Keefe’s self confessed involvement in the crime since 2018 .

I sent many links to his confessions to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, asking them why this man had not been arrested yet. They would thank me for the info but say that they could not comment because the case was still active. From the outside, it looked like no action was being taken at all.

We spoke to former detectives involved in the case and documentary makers who all felt utterly frustrated at the lack of progress in the case. We even published a plea from former LAPD detective Greg Kading, who had probed the murders, urging Las Vegas cops to arrest Keefe, back in 2020.

For years, the case appeared to have been forgotten and ignored, to be left forever unsolved.

But finally, in the summer of 2023, we got word from our sources that there had been a huge development in the case. A secret grand jury was due to be held on whether or not Keefe should be indicted. I was dubious at first but around the same time a house in Henderson, Nevada, linked to Keefe, was raided in July as part of the Tupac investigation.

    Things were heating up.

Later that summer, behind closed doors , jurors listened to hours of testimony from former cops, detectives, and coroners involved in the Tupac case and gangsters and associates of Keefe’s and Pac’s from back in the day. They were shown graphic photos of Tupac’s bullet-ridden body. After days of evidence, they decided there was enough evidence to prosecute Keefe.

Once the secret documents were released I poured over the transcripts. While interesting, many of the witnesses were telling stories they’d heard second-hand. None of the prosecution witnesses had a clear look at who shot Pac. One witness Devonta Lee claimed another gangster called Big Dre took the shot – not Orlando. Maybe things weren’t as clear-cut as I first thought.

Keefe was then arrested on September 30, 2023 at his home. Bodycam footage we obtained from the scene showed Keefe bragging to cops even as he was handcuffed in the back of a police car – telling officers he was involved in the “biggest case in Las Vegas history”.

Following Keefe’s multiple appearances in court, he seems to have lost much of that bravado and now cuts a sad, lonely figure.

Suffering from various health problems as a result of cancer , he’s struggling to cope with the brutalities of jail life and can’t get together enough money to afford his bail. He feels some of his old Southside Crip associates – men he handed wads of cash to in his glory days, have just abandoned him .

Keefe is now desperate to get out of jail , and his defense stems is leaning on his claim that he completely made up his involvement in the Tupac murder for fame and money. He saw other people cashing in on the murder so he thought he would too. He reckons his confessions to police were all lies – he made it up because he was under a plea deal and thought it would help him beat his other charges.

And, according to his lawyer Carl Arnold, he wasn’t even in Las Vegas on the night of the shooting. Arnold remains convinced he will see his client walk free and their secret weapon could be former Death Row Records boss Suge .

As the only other person still alive from either car, Suge, currently in prison for a fatal hit and run, would be a key witness. Suge is the only person still alive who knows what went down – he saw the shooter. While he’s said he won’t testify at the November trial, Suge has claimed in a TMZ interview from prison that Orlando was not the shooter, which again throws into doubt Keefe’s version of events.

Keefe and his lawyer are hoping they might be able to change his mind and persuade him to testify for the defense. And Suge holds the power to blow the prosecution’s case apart.

And if Keefe walks free, will there ever be justice for Pac?

He expressed upset that “grandfather” Keefe could not be released on bail to spend time with his son Duane The Third.

“I hope he gets out,” Duane Jr said. “They are treating him like he is guilty.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to the Clark County DA’s office for comment on Duane Jr.’s claims.

    HEALTH BATTLES

Asked about Keefe’s health following his battle with cancer and his mindset, Duane Jr. said, “He is alright.”

Duane Jr. repeated several times he was “good with” his inflammatory comments being made public.

His complaints could add fuel to the ongoing heated battle between his father, who his own lawyer described as “The Godfather Of Compton” and prosecutors.

Prosecutors have declared Keefe a “danger to the community” and questioned whether he has stepped away from his gangster past.

Judge Kierny raised doubts about his lifestyle and ongoing gang links during a bail hearing .

Keefe has spent the last five years boasting publicly about his criminal activities from nationwide drug dealing, fighting, and being the “shotcaller” in Tupac’s 1996 killing.

    LAWYER HITS BACK

His lawyer Carl Arnold insists he is a “law-abiding citizen” having retired from criminality and now earning cash for his past “notorious” reputation.

In January, Di Giacomo alleged that the taped call with his son indicates Keefe was aware of a potential death order for people planning to testify against him.

A “green light” is known within gang circles as an instruction or authorization to murder.

Judge Carli Kierny was told the FBI moved the witness to a secret location after they were handed Keefe and his son’s remarks in the two-minute 16-second audio recording from the Clark County Detention Center last year.

    RECORDED JAIL CALL

The short clip featured Keefe’s son, Duane Davis Jr., having a disjointed conversation with his father.

Davis Jr opened with, “Call me in the morning I have got some s**t to tell you.”

Keefe then responded with, “About what?” before his son replies, “About some s**t that is going on.”

Davis Jr. then muttered some inaudible comments and adds, “They talking about … it is a green light on us … our side.”

Keefe reacted, “Our side – there is a green light on our side?”

Not being specific about who he had spoken to, his son says, “Yeah that is what he had told me.”

    ‘RAISED IN WAR’

He continued, “He said … We was raised in war, we don’t give a f**k.

    “That n****r ….

“He is saying that it is on…he said, ‘Do you think we give a f**k about that? We are raised in this s**t.”

    Keefe replied, “Yeah fool…”

DiGiacomo argued that the audio allegedly points to potential criminal activity.

DiGiacomo claims that somehow Keefe, through either family or friends, “disseminated a list of 39 gang members who allegedly provided information to the police” and may be witnesses in the trial.

    WITNESS MOVED

His court motion noted that one witness, Devonte Lee, was provided money to move over safety concerns by the FBI.

DiGiacomo made it clear that while Keefe doesn’t have to give a “green light” other gang followers can move ahead with such an order.

In court, DiGiacomo said: “He knew he doesn’t have to issue the green light.

“He knows what the culture is, because he was born in it, grew up in it and I dispute he ever left it.

“You listen to those calls, and you know he is a gang member to the core.

They are not only ugly on the outside but they are ugly on the inside.

    Keefe D talking about prosecutors

“That he has their morals, their values, and that he presents a clear and dangerous threat to our community.

“He made an effort to cause harm to those 39 people on that list. He is making efforts to cause harm to the high-ranking Mob Piru gang member.

“He doesn’t need to issue an order. He just needs to prove to the world that they talked to the police and everyone is at risk of death.

“Which is why the federal government came in and provided money to Mr Lee so that he could move his location.”

It comes just days after Keefe erupted in court and lashed out at prosecutors over their submission of alleged confessions he made to police about Pac’s murder.

He stared at prosecutors declaring, “They are not only ugly on the outside but they are ugly on the inside.”

Keefe launched his tirade about “these two dudes right here” referring to Chief Deputy District Attorneys and prosecutors Marc DiGiacomo and Binu Palal.
