Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James put on another spectacular basketball display on Sunday as Team USA opened their 2024 Olympics campaign with a 110-84 win over Serbia.

As he did during the team's five exhibition games, King James set the tone for the Americans with his impressive play on both ends of the court. Despite being the oldest player on the team, LeBron logged the most minutes with 27 and played with infectious energy throughout the contest.

After the game, former NFL star Robert Griffin III tweeted that even at 39, LeBron is still the best player - not just on Team USA but on the entire planet.

"This man LeBron James is unbelievable," said Griffin. "Olympic play has started, and LeBron James is a 39-year-old who's the best player on the team, and he's out there playing like it's Game 7 of the NBA Finals."

LeBron was brilliant all game long

As he did during the team's five exhibition games, Bron opened the game along with Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, Jrue Holiday, and Devin Booker. The team got off to a shaky 2-10 start and was down 15-19 when Kevin Durant checked in and lit up the scoreboards.

Durant scored 21 first-half points on 8-8 shooting to give the Americans a 58-49 halftime lead. But James wasn't to be outdone. King also went perfect in the first half at 5-5 while scoring 12 points. KD didn't need to do much in the second half, while LeBron continued his brilliance to finish with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists.

"I mean, he's absolutely bodying dudes to the hole," added RGIII. "Unbelievable…LeBron James is proving time and time again that he is worthy of the title of the best player in the world because even at 39 years old, he gets it done on offense and defense."

    Game 7 LeBron activated

With LeBron and KD leading the way, Team USA trounced Serbia 110-84 to start their Paris campaign with a big statement. Denver Nuggets superstar and reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic had a strong game. Still, it wasn't enough to overcome the U.S. duo's big night.

The Joker finished with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals while playing the most minutes among all players at 31. However, the Serbians were a -26 when he wasn't on the court, which was the Americans' winning margin.

Including their last two exhibition games against South Sudan and Germany, LeBron has averaged 22.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game, with shooting splits of 71/63/70 and a true shooting percentage of 77.3%. With those numbers and that efficiency, it looks like LeBron is in Game 7 mode.
