Dodgers land fireballer, Gold Glove winner in three-team blockbuster

The Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly got another deal done on Monday.

Los Angeles already is loaded and widely is considered to be one of the top contenders to win the World Series this year. The Dodgers took another step in that direction on Monday by reportedly acquiring super-utility man Tommy Edman and flamethrower Michael Kopech in a three-team blockbuster trade with the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago White Sox, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

"A three-team trade in which the Cardinals would acquire Erick Fedde, the Dodgers would acquire Tommy Edman and the White Sox would acquire prospects is close, sources tell me and Katie Woo," Rosenthal said. "Source confirms: Dodgers acquiring Michael Kopech along with Tommy Edman in a three-team trade. On it: Jon Heyman and Robert Murray."

Los Angeles has been looking for more depth for the offense and one more bullpen piece. The Dodgers answered two of their biggest roster question marks with this move as Edman can play all over the field. He hasn't appeared in a game yet this season due to nagging wrist pain after offseason surgery but should be back soon.

Edman is a one-time Gold Glove Award winner who also can provide an offensive boost for the Dodgers.

Kopech has one of the best fastballs in baseball and although his numbers aren't great this year, there is real reason to have hope. Plus, he is under team control next year as well.

The Dodgers have been one of the best teams in baseball all year and just got even better.
