The Los Angeles Dodgers are revving up the intensity amid their hunt for a starting pitcher.

The trade deadline hits on Tuesday night, and Los Angeles is going to do whatever it takes to land one of the best starters on the market, even if it means negotiating with a bitter rival.

The Dodgers are reportedly having discussions with the Detroit Tigers about Tarik Skubal and with the Toronto Blue Jays about Yusei Kikuchi , but Los Angeles is also surprisingly speaking with the San Francisco Giants about Blake Snell.

The Athletic's Jim Bowden reported on Monday that the Dodgers are targeting Snell and believe a deal with the Giants is possible.

"The Dodgers are looking for an impact arm and working to land one of the top three starters (Skubal, Snell and Crochet) if they can," Bowden said.

Though it might seem unlikely that San Francisco would give up their ace to a division foe, weirder things have happened in the final hours of a trade deadline.

Furthermore, Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes knows how close his team is to a World Series and is likely willing to present a monstrous offer to the Giants.

Snell, 31, is a two-time Cy Young Award winner and two-time ERA leader. He was All-MLB First Team last season.

The addition of Snell would drastically improve Los Angeles' rotation and make the Dodgers betting favorites to come out of the National League playoffs.
