The Los Angeles Lakers recently posted a video of NBA rookie Bronny James on their official X (formerly Twitter) account. The video features the eldest son of LeBron James sharing his insights on his young basketball career.

The younger James discussed his potential for making it to the NBA, emphasizing that his final years at Sierra Canyon High School were crucial in determining his professional future.

"Seeing my name up at the top of the best. You know, my junior, senior year, it really motivated me," James said.

James was a four-year varsity letterman for Sierra Canyon from 2019–23, averaging 14.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in his senior season . In his time in high school, the 6-foot-2 guard teamed with Los Angeles Clippers guard BJ Boston and Brooklyn Nets forward Ziaire Williams.

Bronny finished his high school career as a four-star prospect, committing to the USC Trojans as the No. 28 player in the 247 Sports rankings. In his sole season with the Trojans, he averaged 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

He was then selected with the No. 55 overall pick by the Lakers in the 2024 NBA draft.

Bronny's basketball journey has been well documented, given that his father is considered one of the greatest players in NBA history. The 19-year-old believed in himself early in his basketball career, and it led to first-ever father-and-son team-up at the highest level of basketball.
