Burglars hit 2 more San Fernando Valley homes; 8 this month

Two more homes Encino homes were burglarized in the San Fernando Valley Monday where break-ins are becoming an all too common occurrence.
The most recent incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. when a security alarm was activated at a home in the 4800 block of Ballina Drive.
The homeowners said they saw an unknown person on security video running through their backyard, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Madison said.

Madison confirmed that burglary did occur but it was still unclear what was taken.
The burglar fled the area after the burglary and remains on the loose.
Earlier in the day, a home in the 16700 block of Morrison Street was also targeted.
A nanny and her 4-year-old daughter were inside the home when a male suspect entered and took designer bags and other items, Madison said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man wearing a baseball cap, ski mask and black shirt.
The burglar fled the scene after taking the items.
The nanny and her daughter were not physically injured in the incident.
Officers responded to a third call just after 10:45 p.m. when residents in the 3500 block of Alana Drive heard a loud crash coming from the first floor of their home.
Police searched the property but no evidence of a burglary was found, Madison said.
Monday’s incidents are only the latest in an increasing number of break-ins that have left the community on edge.
Police have confirmed four other break-ins for a total of six in Encino this month with no arrests announced.
On Sunday, a home on the 4900 block of Noeline Avenue was burglarized around 9:15 p.m.
A broken glass door was seen at the back of the house where the suspects likely made entry.
Last week, a woman on the 5000 block of Rubio Avenue in Encino came home to find masked men ransacking her home after breaking through a window on July 24.
