    Kevin Kiermaier.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have added defensive depth by acquiring center fielder Kevin Kiermaier from the Toronto Blue Jays just minutes before the trade deadline, per Robert Murray of FanSided.com.

The Dodgers will send Ryan Yarbrough, who was DFA'd on Monday , to Toronto.

Kiermaier has been a defensive highlight machine throughout his 14-year career. He has won four Gold Gloves, a Platinum Glove and is currently fourth in Outs Above Average (OAA) among all center fielders this year.

Kiermaier is not known for his offensive skill set and is currently going through his worst season at the plate. He is slashing .195/.236/.310 and has an OPS+ of 54.

Last week, Kiermaier announced he would be retiring after the 2024 season. He made clear the decision after the Blue Jays placed him on waivers at the beginning of July.

With Andy Pages currently occupying center field for the Dodgers, Kiermaier will likely come off the bench in the late innings and fill in when someone needs the day off.

Most of the Dodgers' trade-deadline moves have been about acquiring depth. They also traded for Tommy Edman from the St. Louis Cardinals and re-acquired Ahmed Rosario from the Tampa Bay Rays.
