Terence Crawford is just 36 years old but the reigning boxing champion is pondering a future in the WWE.

Crawford challenges Israil Madrimov for the WBA super welterweight title this Saturday in Los Angeles. He was involved in a double-episode of SmackDown from his home in Omaha last month.

During the event, Crawford helped reigning WWE undisputed champion Cody Rhodes. He handed Rhodes a chair from his seat and also landed a punch on another WWE superstar, Austin Theory.

So, could WWE superstar be another title in Crawford’s future?

“I don’t know,” Crawford said on The MMA Hour (thanks to MMA Fighting for the quotes).”I haven’t really got into it that far. The experience was second to none I must say. It was electrifying. I was actually nervous doing it.

“It was dope. Not only was it in my hometown but it was live on WWE. That’s a big thing, a big platform.”

Crawford is the current WBA and WBO welterweight champion. He will be looking to add another title in another weight class this weekend. Going into the bout with Madrimov, he is a perfect 40-0 with 31 knockouts to his credit.

Terence Crawford Could Transition Into WWE In The Future

Crawford has dealt with his own injuries over his career. But he also understands the pressure put on pro wrestlers.

“The level of toughness that you’ve got to have to know that you’re going to get injured is dope,” he said. “The things that people go through just to put a smile on the fans’ face is amazing.”

Along with his exceptional boxing skills, Crawford has competed in wrestling as an amateur. But he knows there is no move to be made while still at the top of his current sport – and that includes mixed martial arts.

“I don’t try because you can get injured playing around,” he said. “I’ll mess around with my kids or a couple of friends, things like that.”
