This recruiting Q&A features quarterback and safety Matt Sieg, a four-star player out of Fort Cherry High School in McDonald, Pa. Last week Sieg was offered by USC football for the 2026 class. The Pennsylvania native also starts on the baseball and basketball team at Fort Cherry and competes in track and field as well. We were honored to sit down and talk about football, the recruitment process, and more with the star athlete.

Trojans Wire: As a four-sport athlete in high school, which sport is your favorite to play?

Sieg: It’s always been football for me growing up, that what I’m most passionate about.

Trojans Wire: What is the hardest part about playing the quarterback and safety position in the same game?

Sieg: The hardest part of both of those positions is just making the right calls, getting everyone lined up and knowing what everyone has to do at all times.

Trojans Wire: What player (s) do you model your game after on the gridiron?

Sieg: I like to try to model my game after a lot of great playmaking safeties like Troy Polamalu, Ed Reed, and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Here are some of Matt Sieg’s highlights.
