Dodgers surprisingly already listed among favorites to snatch Braves star

The Los Angeles Dodgers boast one of the best rosters in baseball and somehow still could end up making another big investment this upcoming offseason to add more pitching.

Los Angeles widely is considered to be the favorite to win the World Series this year but even it has question marks. The Dodgers' rotation hasn't been at full strength pretty much at all this season due to a wide variety of injuries.

The Dodgers recently acquired Jack Flaherty in a trade with the Detroit Tigers to help with this but they may not be done. There still are a few months to go in the regular season but some already have started talking about free agency.

It's too early to know right now what will happen in the winter, but the Dodgers were listed among the favorites to sign Atlanta Braves ace Max Fried by Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer.

"If Carlos Rodón's six-year, $162 million deal with the (New York Yankees) is the model for talented yet not always healthy lefties, then so be it. That should be Fried's target," Rymer said. "Freddie Freeman's departure is a warning to Atlanta fans not to put too much hope in a reunion on the open market. Any number of usual-suspect big spenders could get in on Fried, including the Yankees, Dodgers, (San Francisco Giants), and (Boston Red Sox)."

At this point, it seems like the Dodgers will be linked to every big-name player available and somehow can go out and get them. Fried will be a free agent at the end of the season and Los Angeles likely at least will be in the mix to land him.
