On Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers paid tribute to Kobe Bryant by unveiling the second of three statues dedicated to the legendary basketball player. This latest statue also includes his daughter, Gianna, as part of the memorial.
Images of the completed statue were shared outside Crypto.com Arena on Friday. The sculpture depicts Kobe and Gianna sitting courtside at a Lakers game in December 2019.

Purple and gold flowers adorn the monument, which includes a plaque featuring a quote from Bryant expressing his pride in being a girl dad and his love for his daughter.
As we previously reported, Kobe’s first statue was debuted outside the arena February 8. The news was first shared by Vanessa Bryant.
“As you know, Kobe played his entire 20-year NBA career as a Los Angeles Laker,” Vanessa Bryant said. “Since arriving in this city and joining the Lakers organization, he felt at home here, playing in the City of Angels. On behalf of the Lakers, my daughters and me, I am so honored that, right in the center of Los Angeles, in front of the place known as the house that Kobe built, we are going to unveil his statue so that his legacy can be celebrated forever.”

Bryant retired from professional basketball after the 2015-16 NBA season, becoming the first player in NBA history to play at least 20 seasons with a single franchise. The two-time Olympic gold medalist and Hall of Famer helped lead Los Angeles to five NBA championships (2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010), earning Finals MVP honors in 2009 and 2010.
