The market is the greatest enemy in real estate these days. High interest rates and high taxes have homes sitting for much longer than before. As the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles stars will tell you, the market sucks. But no challenge is too great for brothers Josh Altman and Matt Altman . The two have been tasked with selling a $17 million mansion in just 30 days. It might seem impossible, but they have a plan.

Josh and Matt think they can sell the pricey home in 30 days or less

It’s been two years since the Altman brothers sold a home to couple Joe and Irina. And now they would like Josh and Matt to sell that same home, plus furniture within 30 days. No sweat! Josh showed up in his best Miami Vice-style outfit ready to get the deal done.

Irina reacquainted Josh and Matt with her 21,000-square-foot home located in the Trousdale neighborhood of Beverly Hills. And let’s hope she’s more reasonable than Josh Flagg’s Trousdale seller he’s at war with .

Each room came complete with custom-made furniture. They had a $21,000 sofa set, a $48,000 dining room table, and an $85,000 temperature-controlled wine locker. And let’s not forget the Rolex bed frame worth $93,000. Tacky!

Josh and Matt sat Irina down to tell her the bad news. The market is not what it was several years ago. Irina didn’t look happy but she only wanted what they paid for plus the cost of the furniture. Josh noted it was turnkey and ready for the buyer to show up with their Versace toothbrush.

They decided to separate the cost of the furniture from the price of the home to avoid a higher buyer’s tax. Josh valued the cost of the furniture to be one million dollars. Matt told Irina if she was ok going lower than their original price of $17 million, it would move faster. Luckily she agreed, and they decided to list at $16.995 million. Not too shabby.

Josh concluded, “30 days to sell a house in Trousdale, it’s not impossible. Can I do it? Yeah, I can do it. They’re just going to have to really entertain any deal I put in front of them.” But will it be a reasonable deal? We’ll have to tune in to find out.

Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
