Comedian and actor Kevin Hart has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He’s been nominated for Emmys Grammys and countless awards. He podcasts and makes commercials, records stand up specials and currently has eleven projects in production. He’s a ball of energy who can’t seem to sit still for one minute.

The only thing that seems to not be going his way is his chain of vegan fast food restaurants. Just last month, the company catered Hart's Borderlands premiere , but Eater reports that all four locations of Hart House closed this week. The chain posted "A Hartfelt goodbye for now as we start a new chapter" on Instagram Tuesday night.

Hart launched the healthier dining alternative while recovering from spinal injuries he suffered in a serious car accident. “When you come close to that light—and that light that I’m talking about is death—you value life differently,” Hart said shortly after his recuperation. “During rehab, he incorporated more plant-based foods into his diet,” his business partner Andy Hooper told Los Angeles last year. Hooper began his career at Burger King and has a long history in food service. “This is us showing we’re going toe-to-toe with established restaurants.”

The first Hart House opened in Westchester in 2022 serving up plant-based burgers and other healthy offerings made with a formulation of pea protein, chickpeas, and soy. He quickly opened a second location in Monrovia and followed with spots near USC and in Hollywood, right at the prominent corner of Sunset and Highland. “We’ve got In-N-Out and Chick-fil-A across the street,” Hooper told us. “This is us showing we’re going toe-to-toe with established restaurants.”

The chain’s most prominent store lasted only 16 months and closed along with the other locations. Hollywood vegans can still head to favorites like Plant Power , Mr. Charlie's , and Doomie's for their plant-based junk food fix.
