What made the 2022 regular season different for LAFC
The 2021 season was an odd one for LAFC. The Black and Gold missed the playoffs for the first time in its history after losing in Colorado on Decision Day. This year, the team had a complete 180 degree turn around. LAFC finished the regular season on top of the west, the league, and won its second Supporters Shield in the last four years. Here, we take a look at the regular season and what things lead to such a turn around.
A Sour End to the Season
LAFC welcomed Nashville for the final home game of the regular season. With the Supporters’ Shield already wrapped up, LAFC had little to play for. For the most part it would be to cement an amazing season. Yet, while LAFC have obtained anouther huge honour it felt like the season ended on a whimper. In their last 10 games LAFC went 4-5-1 and those losses ended up overshadowing the whole season. While hopefully this slip up is corrected asap, lets hope that this momentum won’t follow them into the playoffs.
