LAFC have to go after the US Open Cup
LAFC should not play their LAFC2 team on Tuesday against the LA Galaxy. While it may seem a bit logical, there have been a lot of doubts about wether they should do it. This has to do mainly to the fact that LAFC has a very full schedule, especially with the Concacaf Champions League Final coming up. And while the LAFC2 kids did a wonderful job against Monterey Bay in the previous round, this is not the same.
Dodgers’ Pitching Being Challenged
Dustin May became another casualty of the injury bug that the Dodgers are currently dealing with. After throwing 19 pitches, Dylan Covey replaced Dustin May during the Matinee rubber match against the Twins. The Dodgers are going to have to protect their first place lead with a depleted pitching staff.
LAFC Has a Problem
The Black and Gold have had an impeccable start to their season. Only having one loss in ten games and having reached the Concacaf Champions League Final! However, it has not been without a bit of trial and error. As LAFC has had to plug in some holes and find balance due to heavy rotation. For starters many thought LAFC would have difficulty replacing Maxime Crepeau. However, both John McCarthy and Eldin Jakupović have stepped up tremendously in his absence. McCarthy rose to fame after saving three penalty shots last season after Maxime’s injury. McCarthy has had huge saves that have won games for LAFC. Which will make it even more difficult when Maxime comes back from injury. Apart from goalkeeping LAFC has seen a rise of high caliber talent in the midfield. Last year Jose Cifuentes was a undeniable starter. This season he’s a luxury piece coming off the bench. Timothy Tillman has won a starting role and is a kep midfielder. They even brought in Mateusz Bogusz and also have Erik Duenas as an upcoming star.
