A Sour End to the Season
LAFC welcomed Nashville for the final home game of the regular season. With the Supporters’ Shield already wrapped up, LAFC had little to play for. For the most part it would be to cement an amazing season. Yet, while LAFC have obtained anouther huge honour it felt like the season ended on a whimper. In their last 10 games LAFC went 4-5-1 and those losses ended up overshadowing the whole season. While hopefully this slip up is corrected asap, lets hope that this momentum won’t follow them into the playoffs.

LAFC Wins The Supporters’ Shield
Your 2022 LAFC have once again achieved another trophy! The Black and Gold conquered Portland to claim the 2022 Supporters’ Shield. Their second one in their four year history of existence. They would take advantage after the Philadelphia Union lost 4-0 against Charlotte FC. With a win securing them some another piece of silverware. It has been a bumpy ride this past month and a half. As LAFC saw a dip in their performances and began playing at an odd level. However, they were able to steer the ship well enough and now the MLS Playoffs can potentially end in Los Angeles. This shows just how good LAFC has been this season and also the tougness they posses. LAFC will now return home to the Banc where they will face off against Nashville on decision day.
Kings Trim Camp Roster, Now Sits At 34 Players
The Los Angeles Kings are coming up quickly on the 2022-2023 season. While still in training camp, players are being released, sent to their junior teams, or to the AHL Ontario Reign. Some moves happened yesterday, October 5th, to trim down the roster. There are now 34 players left in training camp, with 12 more cuts to trim the roster down to a league-approved 22.
Kings Clarke Making an Impression at Camp
Los Angles Kings prospect, defenseman Brandt Clarke, is doing everything in his power to make the 2022-2023 Kings roster out of training camp. Clarke began to wow management in developmental camp and then through the rookie tournament. He has shown poise and the ability to take over a game. Clarke is a rookie but looks more like a veteran on the ice. Kings management has a big task at hand when it comes time to decide what to do with Clarke when training camp is over. The only options are with the Kings or back in the OHL with the Barrie Colts. He is not yet eligible to play with the AHL Ontario Reign.
A Stagnant LAFC in Recent Weeks
The Black and Gold have not fared well in their past seven games. As they have only accumulated two victories, four defeats, and a draw. In a matter of three minutes LAFC would go from winning 1-0 to losing 2-1 to Dallas. LAFC have been in a funk and now it has become a concerning issue. With only four games left LAFC have to figure out once again who they are and get back to winning ways. 13 minutes in LA would see a red card and be handicapped for the rest of the game. However, LAFC would find a way to score first and Giorgio Chiellini would get his first MLS assist. As he assisted Chicho Arango for the games opening goal in stoppage time of the first half. In the second half it would fare to be too much beinf down a man and they would falter. Mistakes and errors cause the Black and Gold the game and extended this bad stretch. LAFC need to improve before the playoffs or this historic season would be for not.
Kings Re-sign Defenseman Ahead of Training Camp
With training camp just weeks away the Los Angeles Kings have re-signed defenseman Mikey Anderson to a 1-year, $1 million deal on September 11, 2022. The stay-at-home, physical defenseman played 57 games last season, racking up two goals and six assists for eight points. In those games, he also had 69 blocks and 133 hits. For his Kings career, he has played in 117 games, scoring four goals and 16 assists for 20 points. Drafted by the Kings in the fourth round(103rd overall) in the 2017 NHL Draft, Anderson has become quite dependable while playing alongside veteran Drew Doughty. He is rarely out of position and seems comfortable playing the body while closing gaps on the opposing forwards.

Should We Be Worried About LAFC
The Black and Gold headed off to Houston last Wednesday in hopes of breaking their losing streak. With a rebuilding Dynamo side many felt like this would be an easy three points for LAFC. However, those who felt like that would be wrong as the Dynamo was able to defeat LAFC 2-1. Which in turn prolonged the clubs losing streak to three, the longest this season. Once again LAFC would go down early as in the 13th Minute Jesus Ferreira got the home team up top via a penalty. Thankfully LAFC had a quick response, as 6 minutes later Chicho Arango tied the game. Arango would score his team leading 15th goal and helped LAFC get back into the game. In the second half LAFC would not hold back as they brought on Gareth Bale. Bale would not have a fun night as three times he would be denied a goal. Two spectacular saves from Steve Clark and a goal line clearance would deny the Welshman his goal. These saves would be critical as in the 74th minute Griffin Dorsey would get the go ahead goal. He would casually stroll his way past the defense and out up a left footed curler that ended in the net. The Dynamo defended till the last whistle and this would be their biggest win of the season.

LAFC Struggles in Austin
The Black and Gold would make a stop in Austin for their second encounter of the season. After Austin Fc came to California in May and handed LAFC a 2-1 loss, Los Angelinos were out for revenge. However, that would not be the case as they were overmatched and outclassed by Austin. Sure, LAFC continues to be the best team in MLS and have sound control of the Supporters Shield they have looked bad these past two games. After losing to San Jose and Austin there has been some worry about the club performances. Austin ran circles on LAFC and forced them to play in an uncomfortable manner. As all LAFC could do was play one long ball after another and the chemistry they usually show was not there. Another issue they faced was the suspension of Ilie Sanchez. Who has arguably been their most consistent player this year. LAFC is yet to win a game when he is off the pitch. Which could just be a coincidence but there is no doubt the team heavily relies on his services. In the end Austin played this game as if it was do or die. They showed intensity and discipline and gave LAFC a taste of their own medicine.
LAFC’s Win Streak Snapped
LAFC Make A Lot of Changes Against the Earthquakes. LAFC would take their seven-game win streak into San Jose and looked to continue with their winning ways. After defeating D.C United by the minimum earlier in the week they would make the trip up north. While it looked like this should have been one of the more easier teams to play, LAFC would unfortunately walk away with a loss. There were many changes made to the starting 11 that ultimately affected the way the team played. Many players sharing the pitch for the first time and it showed. As LAFC would concede and early goal in the 14th minute. It would take the club until the 39th minute to respond. When Chicho would have his shot go off the crossbar, making it the only dangerous opportunity they had in the first half. The Black and Gold would go into the half down by a goal.

A Hard Earned Victory Against D.C
LAFC would welcome Wayne Rooney and D.C United to Los Angeles for an epic showdown between two clubs heading in the opposite spectrum. LAFC is currently the best team in MLS with a total of 55 points and leading all of MLS. Meanwhile D.C United sit with a measly 23 points in the Eastern Conference. Yet in the first 10 minutes the opposing team stood its ground and went toe-to-toe with the Black and Gold. As expected LAFC would dominate majority of the first half. However, a silly foul committed by the defense gave the visiting team a dangerous free kick opportunity. Jackson Hopkins would get on the end of a set piece and would bring at that moment the most dangerous opportunity for either side. Forcing Crepeau to make a spectacular save to his left side and deny D.C United the opening goal. LAFC would have a lot of imprecisions in the final third forcing them to settle for a 0-0 draw. They would also have zero shots on target in the first half!
