You Always Remeber Your First
It would be a beautiful Saturday evening in Los Angeles as the Black and Gold welcomed Charlotte FC to the Banc. On this night LAFC would honor the late great Vin Scully. Just before the game there would be a minute of silence. Then the action would start and it would mark the first ever matchup between these two teams. As expected the home team took complete control of the first half. However, Charlotte had a few opportunities that came incredibly close to Crepeau’s goal. The first 45 minutes would end tied at 0 a piece. With LA having much more of the position and being more dangerous. However some imprecisions up top would leave the home team with a sour taste. It felt as if they weren’t in sync, with the top three attackers not timing their runs correctly. There would be a lot to correct in the seond half in order to walk out with a victory.
Pure Dominance Shown in Utah
The Black and Gold would travel to Utah to take on Real Salt Lake for week 23 of MLS. The club has continued to sit atop of the Western Conference and have high probability of winning the Supporters Shield. This victory only increased those probabilities. As LAFC would walk into Sandy, Utah and defeat RSL by a whopping 4-1 that included a Chicho Arango brace and Gareth Bale’s second goal in MLS. The first 20 minutes were full of incredible action. Which included three total goals, two from LAFC and one by RSL. Chicho would open up the scoring in the 9th minute with a beautiful back-heel golazo. Cordova would tie the game in the 12th minute for the home team. Then in the 17th minute a rocket from Kellyn Acosta put LAFC up for good. The Black and Gold would not look back and would end the half up 2-1.
5 Kings Prospects to Play in World Junior Tournament
The 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships are being held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, starting on Tuesday, August 9th, and running until the 20th of August. The Los Angeles Kings will be represented, sending 5 prospects to the highly competitive tournament. The five prospects are going to be listed below, with the exception of defenseman Brock Faber, who was traded to the Minnesota Wild in the trade that sent forward Kevin Fiala to Los Angeles.
It’s Now or Never for LAFC
It is no secret that LAFC has been one of the best teams this season and have a strong chance at fighting for a MLS Cup. The Black and Gold currently sit in first place with 48 points, leading the Supporters Shield. They also boast a current four game win streak that started on July 8th. Within that streak two of those wins were back to back road victories. Showing that this team can win away from the Banc. Also they have added two immensely talented pieces to their roster. On the defensive end Giorgio Chiellini and Gareth Bale on the attacking end. Both players with experience at the highest level of professional futbol. With an already loaded roster these moves are for winning now. Anything less than a MLS Cup will be considered a failure and questions will continue to be asked about why can’t LAFC win the big one. Holding this team together has been Steve Cherundolo, he has done an exceptional job in his first year. Leading the team to a 15-3-4 record so far this season. Let’s just hope they can finally deliver a title this year.
Kings Clarke On a Mission to Make NHL Debut in 2022-23 Season
The Los Angeles Kings have some roster decisions to make before the start of the 2022-23 NHL season but one that they should not have to make is whether defensive prospect Brandt Clarke should be on the roster. The 6-foot-2 and 185-pound Clarke was drafted eighth overall in the 2021...
Friday Night Lights at the Banc
It would be a beautiful and warm Friday night on July 29th, when the Sounders would visit LAFC. These matches always have a little extra kick especially after the 2019 Western Conference Final. Where the Black and Gold suffered a loss to the visiting team. So there is always some animosity between both teams. These two teams have always put on a spectacle and tonight would no different. LAFC took control of the first 10 minutes but had nothing to show. Then in the 14th minute disaster struck a well orchestrated counter attack saw Seattle get numbers up. They would overpower the LAFC defense and a slick ball into the penalty area saw Murillo put it in his own net.

Bale Nabs His First MLS Goal
It was a great weekend for the Black and Gold. Getting their sixth win on the road while also making it back to back road wins. This week’s victim would be the struggling Sporting Kansas City, who sit last in the Western Conference. Once again Giorgio Chiellini would be included in the starting eleven. These starts will be crucial as Chiellini begins to settle with the team and get the necessary reps he needs to be at 100%. The first half would actually start off really well for the home team. As they dominated the first 15 minutes of the match but were not able to find the back of the net. LAFC would almost open up the scoring in the 44th minute. A tremendous goal line clearance by the Kansas defender denied Cifuentes of another goal. The two teams would enter the half tied at nil.
Chiellini and Bale Make LAFC Debut
Sunday, July 17th will go down as a historic day not only for LAFC but all of MLS. For that was the day Giorgio Chiellini and Gareth Bale both made their debuts for LAFC. It would not be a walk n he park as Nashville has been one of the better teams this season. Giorgio would be paired with Jesus Murillo and the game would flow through the two defenders. LAFC played to Giorgio’s strength as he would be more of a distributor when the team played out the back. It would be a solid showing for Chiellini and as he gets more reps in he will surely return to form.

LAFC Win El Trafico
The choice to play this game on a Friday evening was a little surprising, but nonetheless it lived up to the hype as it usually does. Being MLS Rivalry weekend it saw both LA teams fight for city pride. With the Galaxy having won the two previous encounters another loss for LAFC would not sit well with the directors and fans. So in a sense this was a must win match for the home side. There would also be a Gareth Bale sighting at the Banc of California. Gareth was unofficially presented to the fans adding a slight bit of pressure for the home team.
Kings Re-sign Veteran Defenseman Alex Edler
Defenseman Aled Edler has returned to the Los Angeles Kings for the 2022/23 season, signing a 1-year, $750,000 deal, with another $750,000 available in games played bonuses. In his 17-year career, Edler has played 966 games, scoring 102 goals and adding 325 assists for 427 points.
Chiellini Presentation + Two Critical Matches Agaisnt Western Conference Opponents
June 29th 2022 will go down as a historic day for LAFC. For it was the day that Giorgio Chiellini was presented as the newest member of LAFC. The veteran defender during his conference stated how excited he was to join the team. He expressed a tremendous amount of gratitude to the front office. Chiellini stated that he was not here for a vacation and wanted to compete for titles. A member of the media asked Chiellini how he felt on many stars that join the league are attackers and hardly any defenders. Chiellini responded by saying “Attackers sell tickets, but defense wins the league.” Which perfectly summarizes the mentality that Chiellini will bring to the club. A very playful Chiellini also joked around as to why they even brought him to LA. As according to him “The club already has a top defender” referencing the highly talented Mamadou Fall.
