Santa Fe could become the new home of the Sundance Film Festival
SANTA FE, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — One of the longest-running American film festivals, and a pillar of the independent film industry might relocate to New Mexico. The New Mexico Film Office revealed Friday that Santa Fe is one of the finalist cities being considered by the Sundance Institute to become the new home for the renowned Sundance Film Festival.
County closes County Road 6480 in Kirtland for repaving
According to a San Juan County news release, the county will be closing County Road 6480 in Kirtland for repaving on Monday, July 29. The county road that starts on the westside of Farmington as Twin Peaks Boulevard, will be closed west of the junction of County Road 6200 after the Twin Peaks hills.

Several homes in Socorro County have not been on the tax rolls for 20, 30 years
The total combined taxable values for 2024 reached over three hundred million, Julie Griego, county assessor, announced at the Socorro County meeting last week. “In 2013, our taxable value was 240 million and now we’re at 360 million,” Griego said “I can’t tell you how many houses we picked up that had never been on the roll that have been out there for 20 to 30 years and never paid taxes on it. That’s what we’ve been doing for the last ten years because of all the issues we’ve had with computers and all that stuff.”
