Father drowns after rescuing son
BRAXTON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Search crews have recovered the body of a man who went missing in Sutton Lake on Monday. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) announced on Wednesday that its police dive team recovered the body of Kevaughn Jamar Montgomery, 25, of Charleston, on Tuesday near the Wolf Run area of Sutton Lake in Braxton County at 7 p.m.

The Mountaineer Maniacs is the largest student organization on campus and official student section of WVU Sports. Here’s how to become a member of the Maniacs. To become a Maniac, students must register online for one of two membership types. Basic Membership, which costs $25 annually, includes a Maniacs tee shirt, watch party invitations, Olympic sports giveaways, away basketball and football trip invitations and a 20% discount at the Book Exchange. The Ultimate Membership costs $50 annually and offers the same benefits but guarantees football tickets.
Rain and storms expected throughout Wednesday
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Good morning NCWV! We are halfway through the work week, and we have finally cooled down with the help of a frontal system that is also providing us rain showers and storms throughout the day today. High temperatures have lowered about 10 degrees, with highs only reaching into the low to mid 80s in the lowlands and the mid 70s in the higher elevations. These storms do have a bit of potential for severity, with wind gusts up to 35MPH in the more mountainous regions in the valleys especially.
U.S. Senators Manchin and Capito announce $6.89 million in CDS towards Fairmont State University
FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont State University will receive $6.89 million in federally directed spending to go towards three improvement projects. The offices of United States Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito announced that the university will receive Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) funds to support upgrades to the nursing program facilities, library renovations, and campus security system improvements. Fairmont State Associate Director of Proposal Development Amantha Cole expressed excitement on behalf of the university to have the federal funds directed to support upgrades for multiple aspects of student life.
