Thunderstorms taper off Thursday morning
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - A cold front is approaching our area from the NW, causing rain and storms in our area. Heavy rainfall could cause a few instances of localized flash flooding despite the recent drought conditions. Additionally, wind gusts could get as high as 40-45mph in isolated cases, potentially causing minor wind damage. Overnight, showers will become less abundant as the cold front makes its way to our SE. Patchy morning fog is likely, but by the afternoon, clearer conditions are expected for most (our southeastern zones may see a few stray showers lingering, since the front won’t be too far to our south at that point). Friday will be a seasonable, mostly sunny day. Saturday will see an increase in cloud cover, though precipitation is only likely in our higher elevations, in the afternoon and evening. Sunday will get a bit hotter, though will remain dry; then, thunderstorm activity ramps up again next week.
