    8-year-old dies, another child sustains life-threatening injuries in head-on N.H. crash

    The crash happened in Loudon on Friday evening.

    A head-on crash in Loudon, New Hampshire, Friday evening killed an 8-year-old. Another child in the same car suffered life-threatening injuries, and three more people were injured, according to State Police.

    The crash occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Route 106. A Mazda3 traveling south is believed to have crossed the center line, colliding with an oncoming Toyota 4Runner, police said.

    Three occupants in the Mazda were taken to a hospital, including the 8-year-old who was subsequently pronounced dead and the other injured child. A 36-year-old man was driving the car; police didn’t specify if he was the third hospitalized occupant.

    In addition, two occupants in the Toyota SUV, which was being driven by a 52-year-old, were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

    The deceased victim’s identity has not been released, and there weren’t immediate updates on the injured individuals’ conditions Monday. The crash remains under investigation.
