The KSO recruit of the week this week is Louisburg, Kansas linebacker and Kansas State commit Ashton Moore .

    NAME : Ashton Moore
    RANKING: UR
    CLASS: 2025
    POSITION: Linebacker
    HOMETOWN: Louisburg, Kansas
    HIGH SCHOOL: Louisburg
    POWER FOUR OFFERS: Kansas State
    COMMITTED: Kansas State

    Recruiting summary

The recruitment of Moore was a relatively quick and quiet process. Kansas State offered the rising senior after the first camp on May 30 in Manhattan. To be honest, I was a bit surprised at the time that he did not commit to the Wildcats right away.

Old Dominion also offered the younger brother of Austin Moore as well. Remember, their defensive coordinator is former K-State player and coach Blake Seiler .

After the Wildcats landed three linebackers before Moore, I was curious if it would speed up his timeline and if he still had a scholarship opportunity in his grasp. The Sunflower State native announced his commitment to Kansas State July 10 and put those questions to rest.

    Evaluation of Kansas State target

If his older brother is “The Machine” the younger Moore is the “Baby Machine.”

They play similarly. Ashton is very, very physical and is not afraid to put his face in the mess and hit and hit hard. He has a few massive hits, not just as a linebacker but as a ball-carrier on his junior year film. He is also a sure tackler which is impressive at the high school level.

Moore really understands the game and has a high football IQ. He seems to be in the right spot and understands how to play with leverage, which is an important part of playing linebacker at Kansas State. I also don’t think he will be overwhelmed too much athletically at the Power Four level.

I like his sideline-to-sideline speed and burst, likely a step ahead of his older brother in that department. And the newest in-state commit makes plays – totaling 125 tackles, eight for a loss, four forced fumbles, four pass break-ups and two sacks last season.

    Prediction

There is no need for a prediction. Moore was the most recent commitment for K-State.
