Income and Expense Questionnaires Mailing This Week
As part of the annual reappraisal process mandated by the State of Kansas, the Riley County Appraisers office is conducting a survey of multifamily, commercial, and industrial properties. Income and expense questionnaires will be mailed this Thursday, August 15th to Riley County properties in those categories. “We are studying trends in the local real estate market regarding rent prices, occupancy, and operating expenses, and we respectfully request participation from property owners,” explained Riley County Appraiser Anna Burson.

USD 428 putting two Great Bend properties up for bid
Getting some property back on the county tax rolls. USD 428 announced Monday night that two of its properties are up for bid with a third to be on the market later this fall. Kevin Sundahl with Sundahl Appraisal Services appraised the former district building at 201 S. Patton Road in Great Bend and the former central kitchen building at 2201 Broadway Ave. Superintendent Khris Thexton said the surplus property can now be sold.

City of Manhattan names new Director of Public Utilities
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - Interim Manhattan City Manager Jason Hilgers announced the city’s newest Director of Public Utilities on Wednesday, August 14. The City of Manhattan added the current Utilities Director for Odessa, Texas, Kevin Niles. Niles will oversee the reconstructed Public Utilities Department in Manhattan, which provides services for the city and surrounding infrastructure.
