Raleigh woman facing 22 felony charges in connection with insurance fraud scheme
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh woman was arrested last Wednesday in connection with an insurance fraud scheme that spanned over five years. Tonia Yvett Clare Jones, 55, is charged with 11 counts of insurance fraud, 10 counts of obtaining property by false pretense, and one county of attempting to obtain property by false pretense. All charges are felonies, according to the North Carolina Department of Insurance.

Teen ‘seriously hurt,’ woman injured after shooting in Clayton neighborhood, police say
CLAYTON, N.C. (WNCN) — A fourteen-year-old is “seriously hurt” and a woman is injured after a shooting that took place early Tuesday morning in Clayton. Around 3 a.m., officers with the Clayton Police Department said they were dispatched to a person suffering from a gunshot wound near Pond Street and Durham Street. A short time later, officers responded to an additional call of a gunshot victim near Joyner Street, they said.
