It's that time of year where we can pretty much copy and paste our daily forecasts. Simply put: the hot and humid conditions we've experienced over the last few days will persist for at least another week.

Another excessive heat warning is in effect today. High temperatures will reach the mid-90s with heat indices will approach the 115° mark. We could get some relief from spotty showers, but rain chances remain low, hovering in the 30-percent range.

Believe it or not, this heat and humidity is good news for us. As long as the high ridge of pressure creating these conditions hovers over the southeastern United States, it will steer Hurricane Beryl towards Mexico and Texas and away from Louisiana.
