Gypsy Rose Blanchard was hoping to get her divorce finalized quickly after announcing she was expecting her first child with her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker.
Gypsy Rose announced she is expecting her first child with her ex-fiancé, but her husband Ryan Anderson, who she filed for divorce from, is "understood to be the father" by her state's law. The law in the Bayou State states that if the mother of a child is married to someone who is not the biological father when the child was conceived or has been divorced for less than 300 days at the time of birth, then Ryan is presumed to be the father.
Gypsy Rose and Ryan separated in March after almost two years of marriage. Ryan's attorney spoke out on what is to come.

Speaking to TMZ , Ryan's attorney, Jeffrey Carrier, said that when married couples without children divorce in Louisiana, they must live apart for six months after divorce papers are served. They have to to do this before they could request a divorce hearing. TMZ learned that Ryan was not served until the middle of July, when the six-month time started. When the six-month period is up, a divorce hearing could happen around two to three weeks after, meaning the divorce could drag to early next year.
According to Jeffrey, both Ryan and Gypsy agreed no one would be receiving spousal support or alimony. This comes after Gypsy Rose originally asked Ryan to pay her spousal support. They also agreed that Ryan would keep their dog Pixie. The two are wondering how to divide their assets – contracts for shows like Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up and books.
A big question fans have expressed was if Ken was really the father of the future baby. Because of the Bayou State law, Ryan would legally be the father of the child and his name would go on the baby's birth certificate , even though Gypsy Rose has said Ken is the biological father. A DNA test will be performed as it is stated under the Louisiana law to set the record straight.
Gypsy announced her pregnancy on her YouTube channel in a video titled 'I'm Pregnant, My Journey So Far' on July 9.
