Fast-casual chain opens near UofL
A national fast-casual restaurant chain has a new location near the University of Louisville.<\p> Tropical Smoothie Café opened at 305 W. Cardinal Blvd. in Cardinal Towne, a mixed-use development that includes student housing and several restaurants, on May 27. This is the eighth Tropical Smoothie Café in the Greater Louisville area.<\p>
Homeowners continue to build equity, impacting future buying decisions
American homeowners continue to build significant equity even as the housing market has slowed and home prices aren't rising as rapidly as they did in recent years.<\p> U.S. homeowners with a mortgage pulled in $28,000 in equity gains on average year over year in the first quarter, the highest amount since late 2022, according to CoreLogic Inc. That average year-over-year increase of 9.6% translates to a collective gain of $1.5 trillion and means net homeowner equity totaled more than $17 trillion at the end of Q1.<\p>
J'Town cafe opens
A new deli in Jeffersontown promises to bring a taste of New York to Louisville.<\p> Boone’s Deli, located at 10414 Watterson Trail in the former 3rd Turn Brewing Social Room, officially opens for business today, June 17. In a release, owner Megan Boone said the menu will include a selection of classic deli sandwiches and a few signature options. <\p>

Omaha, Nebraska-based Scooter’s Coffee is celebrating the opening of its 800th location this week.<\p> The milestone will be reached when the new location at 10515 Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown opens Friday morning, June 14. The company is planning to have a grand opening ceremony for the store at 10 a.m. <\p>
Wild Eggs adding 3 locations
Wild Eggs is expanding its footprint.<\p> The Louisville-based chain, which offers breakfast, brunch and lunch, said in a news release that it will double its presence in Central Indiana by the end of 2024, opening three new locations, including in Avon, Indiana and Greenwood, Indiana. <\p>
