Louisville, KY – The Louisville Metro Police Department Homicide Unit apprehended Gage Lewis in connection with the shooting death of Dion Smith, Jr. on May 18, 2024, in the 4400 block of Taylor Boulevard.

Mr. Lewis was taken into custody immediately following the incident without resistance. He has been formally charged with Murder and is currently being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

The tragic event unfolded when officers from LMPD’s Fourth Division responded to reports of a shooting at a business on Taylor Blvd around 8:56 PM. Upon arrival, officers found two adult males inside the business suffering from gunshot wounds.
